Once upon a time in a land far away, known as the deep depths and foreign path of high school, there was this one girl. Nothing special about her. Just the usual average day girl. Average height, brown hair, brown eyes, not too fat or skinny, smart but not too smart, and a person that could easily be lost in the shadows. Just like a typical story though, she liked a guy. Let’s name this guy John and this girl Jane.
“To be brave is to love someone unconditionally without expecting anything in return.” – Madonna
I will love you unconditionally
There is no fear now
Let go and just be free
I will love you unconditionally
Whenever that song comes onto the radio in the morning, it always makes me ponder about the idea of unconditional love. In a way, unconditional love is an important factor in life that people believe in (even if they don’t know it) and strive to achieve. Everyone wants someone to love them, accept them, and be there for them no matter what. Through thick and thin. I know I must be silly be saying all of this, but its true whether you care to admit it or not.
Imagine yourself on a cold, rainy day huddled up in the warm living room. You are laying on the sofa with your blanket wrapped around you. The heater is radiates a sense of warmth, and you can hear the pitter patter of the rain hitting the roof or windows. You have a mug of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows right beside you on the side table. The only thing that could make it more complete and perfect is an amazing, jaw-dropping book to read as you are cuddled up and warm. Then everything goes wrong. Well in the book…
A smile holds the power to brighten someone’s day. It is a small act of kindness that spreads from person to person, like a cold at school, but in a more healthy and beneficial way. It takes several seconds to offer someone a quick smile that could make an impact on them. You never know that person could have been recently affected by a tragic event in their family, they could have failed a test, or even got dumped by the person they were dating a couple of minutes ago. I guess it all depends on how life takes its course of action. I know it can be unbearable and hard, but events in your life always happen for a reason. Even if you may feel bad about it for a while, usually when a door closes another one opens. You can control one thing in life though and that is how you affect yourself and others.
“Odors have a power of persuasion stronger than that of words, appearances, emotions, or will. The persuasive power of an odor cannot be fended off, it enters us like breath into our lungs, it fills us up, imbues us totally. There is no remedy for it. “ – Patrick Suskind, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
You walk into a room. Bare and empty. No sound resonating off the walls. The only thing that you notice is the smell hanging around in the dank air. That smell could tell you everything you need to know. Your nose is one of the most important senses that the human being has, and it can be a useful and valuable tool. While inhaling a waft of that air, you could tell what happened… a baker used this room as a shortcut for his delivery of yummy, mouth-watering cinnamon buns. They were hot from the stove creating a lingering effect of the guilty trail of tasty treats. Scents can tell you a lot of information, but they could also trick you.
RING RING!!!!! That is the sound of your alarm clock blaring in the morning, signaling a new day starting in the wee early morning hours. Of course no one would want to drag themselves from the comforts of their warm, snuggly bed. Closing their eyes again would give a hint of relaxation and allow them to drift into the world of dreams and desires. RING RING!!!! But that noise is anything but satisfying to their ears. Not to mention the fact, depending on the alarm clock, it could be spilling out a different obnoxious noise or flying around the room, if your alarm clock is capable of that horrible feature. All you want to do is have a couple of more minutes, but you will not be permitted to have that peaceful desire. The only thing left to do is dragging yourself out of your bed and hitting your alarm clock on the way out.
“True love is rare, and it’s the only thing that gives life real meaning.” – Nicholas Sparks
February is a very interesting month. It has plenty of holidays for relaxation purposes, and it is a very short month with only 28 days (unless it’s leap year, then there are 29 days). Although that is not the reason why this month brings mixed emotions to everyone. The true reason is the day of February 14th, Valentine’s Day.
